-- How do I send my files to you?
You can upload your audio or video files on our site or if your audio or video is available online, you can direct us to the URL. Due to size limitations on e-mail attachments, we prefer that you send large files using our upload page or another file transfer service. We currently use Send This File, which has a secure transfer system. Please fill out our site's order form and we will send you a password to upload your file through our website. You can also set up your own account with Send This File, PipeBytes, DropSend, You Send It, or any other service you wish. Several of these services offer free or trial accounts and have various file size sending limits. No matter which way you decide to send a file, we suggest you place it in a folder and compress it for a faster upload. To compress a file on your Windows PC: Right click on the file you want to compress, scroll down and select "Send To." You should see the "Compressed (zipped folder)" option. This will create a zip/compressed version of the file on your desktop to attach. Please note that you should expect the upload of large files to take some time, as audio and video files are usually large. You can continue to work on other things on your computer as the file is uploading. -- Do you transcribe tapes, CDs, or DVDs? The majority of the time we work with digital formats of video and audio (mp3, wav, flv, wma, etc.). We do not transcribe cassette tapes. However, on a case-by-case basis we may transcribe a CD or DVD. The customer must pay for shipping the media to us and include prepaid packaging for returning it. Insuring the shipment is also the customer's responsiblity. You may want to ship us a copy of your media rather than the original. Please contact us if you have any further questions about this. -- Can you handle large orders? We can handle large transcription orders according to our workload. However, the turnaround time may be longer than 5 days. We have a team of experienced transcriptionists who assist with large projects. If your project includes more than 4 hours of audio or video, please contact us. For additional information, see large orders. -- Can you produce a transcript using my template? Yes. We have several templates for transcription; however, you can also submit your own. If you would like to see the formats we offer, please contact us. -- Do you offer time coding? Yes. However, there is an additional charge for this option. See audio and video transcription prices. |
